This publication serves as an official record documenting the copyright claims for various motion pictures during the specified timeframe, including details about the works and their authorship. It is particularly valuable for archival purposes, providing legal evidence of copyright ownership. The opening portion of this catalog provides an extensive introduction and outlines the structure and contents of the entries. It explains the purpose of the catalog as a legal document, describes how the registrations are organized, and lists the various classes of motion pictures covered.
