"Motorcycle, Solo (Harley-Davidson Model WLA)" by United States War Department is a technical manual written in the early 1940s. This manual serves as a comprehensive guide for the operation, maintenance, and minor repairs of the Harley-Davidson Model WLA motorcycle, which was used extensively during World War II. It covers everything from vehicle specifications and operating instructions to detailed maintenance procedures, making it invaluable for field mechanics and users. The opening of the manual introduces the scope of its content, outlining the purpose of providing necessary information and guidance for personnel responsible for the motorcycle's operation and upkeep. It establishes the structure of the manual by dividing it into two main parts: the first focuses on vehicle operating instructions, while the second addresses maintenance procedures.
