Daniele, Cividale, and S. Pietro al Natisone. The book is structured to provide an in-depth exploration of the landscape, flora, fauna, and human settlement in this mountainous region, making it a valuable resource for those interested in the natural history and geographical characteristics of Friuli's Prealps. At the start of this guide, the author explains the scope and purpose of the work, detailing the significant slow compilation and publication journey while highlighting the contributions of various local experts and scholars. The introduction sets the foundation for the city's natural and cultural history in the Prealpi Giulie, discussing the region's nomenclature and geographic boundaries, as well as its geological structure.
