Castro, Modesto de
"Pag Susulatan nang Dalauang Binibini na si Urbana at ni Feliza" by Modesto de Castro is an epistolary work written in the first half of the 19th century. Through an exchange of letters between two sisters, the elder Urbana, studying at a women's college in Manila, shares guidance with her younger sister Feliza on proper conduct and moral behavior. Their symbolic names—Urbana representing good manners, Feliza representing happiness through virtue—frame lessons on navigating temptation, maintaining purity, and fulfilling duties in various life stages, including marriage and family.
